Connections is the latest puzzle game offered by the New York Times. In this game, you are tasked with sorting a pool of 16 words into four secret categories by determining how the words are related to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight and each new puzzle presents a varying level of difficulty. Like Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
Some puzzles can be more challenging than others. If you’re struggling with solving today’s Connections puzzle, we have provided some helpful tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers for today will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you will be shown a grid containing 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These sets could consist of concepts such as titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, and more.
Some words may seem like they could fit into multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You have the ability to shuffle and rearrange the grid of words to help visualize the potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to figure out, followed by the green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. If your selection is correct, the four words will be removed from the grid and the theme connecting them will be revealed. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake, and there are only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
