Connections is the newest puzzle game released by the New York Times. The objective of the game is to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying the relationships between the words. Each night at midnight, a new puzzle is presented with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.
Some puzzles are more challenging than others. If you are struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out the tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you will be presented with a grid containing 16 words. Your goal is to group these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be based on various themes such as video game titles, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Guess incorrectly, and it will count as a mistake. Players are allowed four mistakes before the game ends.
