Connections is the newest puzzle game offered by the New York Times. This intriguing game challenges players to categorize a set of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying their relationships. The puzzle refreshes daily at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty each day. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compete with friends.
Some days pose more challenges than others. If you’re struggling to crack today’s Connections puzzle, don’t worry. Below, you’ll find some helpful tips and hints. And if you still can’t solve it, we’ve provided the answers at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you will encounter a grid of 16 words, and your task is to group these words into four sets of four by recognizing the connections that tie them together. These connections can range from titles of video game franchises to shades of red or names of chain restaurants.
While some words may appear to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle the grid of words to aid in identifying potential connections more easily.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the four words will be removed, revealing the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
