Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words are related. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out the tips and hints provided below. And if you still can’t solve it, the answers are revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words, and the goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections could be titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, etc.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the words to better visualize the connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to figure out, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click “Submit.” If correct, the words will be removed and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
