Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying their relationships. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying degrees of difficulty, allowing you to track your winning streak and compare scores with friends, similar to Wordle.
If you find today’s Connections puzzle challenging, check out our tips and hints below. If you’re still stuck, we’ve provided the answers at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be based on categories like video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
Some words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help you see the connections more clearly.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and hit “Submit.” If correct, the words will be removed and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with a limit of four before the game ends.
