Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering the relationships between the words. Each new puzzle has varying difficulty levels and resets every night at midnight. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out the tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers will be provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that bind them. These connections could be based on titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, and more.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle the words on the grid to help visualize the potential connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to discern, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and submit your answer. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, and you only have four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
