Connections is the newest brain-teasing puzzle game from the New York Times. Your objective is to categorize a selection of 16 words into four hidden groups by identifying how they are related to each other. The challenge resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
Some days may pose more of a challenge than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you’re still stuck, the answers for today are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four groups of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could revolve around video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the ability to shuffle the word grid to help visualize potential connections. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If you’re correct, the words will be removed from the grid, revealing the theme. Guess incorrectly, and it will count as a mistake. You have four chances to make mistakes before the game concludes.
