Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. Each puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying degrees of difficulty, allowing players to track their winning streak and compare scores with friends just like in Wordle.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out the tips and hints provided below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words and must organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections could be titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, and more.
While some words may seem suitable for multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to assist in identifying potential connections. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the theme connecting them will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with players having only four mistakes before the game ends.
