Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling to solve today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. If you’re still stuck, the answers are provided at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series, colors, restaurant names, and more.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the option to shuffle the words on the grid to help visualize the potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and submit your answer. Correct answers will reveal the connection theme, while incorrect guesses count as mistakes. You have a limit of four mistakes before the game ends.
