Connections is the newest puzzle game from the New York Times. The objective of the game is to categorize a set of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying their relationships with each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
Some puzzles can be more challenging than others. If you’re stuck on today’s Connections puzzle, refer to the tips and hints provided below. And if you need it, the answers will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to group these words into sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series, colors, restaurant names, etc.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the option to shuffle and rearrange the words to help identify the connections more easily.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and click ‘Submit.’ Correct answers will reveal the theme connecting them, while incorrect guesses will be counted as mistakes. You have four mistakes before the game ends.
