Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series, shades of colors, or chain restaurant names.
Sometimes words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and submit them. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the theme connecting them will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, and you only have four mistakes before the game ends.
