Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering how the words relate to each other. Each new puzzle resets at midnight with varying levels of difficulty, and similar to Wordle, you can track your streak and share scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, we’ll reveal today’s answers at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connecting themes. These themes could include titles of video game series, book sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names, among others.
There may be words that could fit into multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle the word grid to rearrange and better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and hit Submit. Correct guesses will reveal the connecting theme, while incorrect guesses will count as mistakes. You have only four mistakes before the game ends.
