NYT Connections: hints and answers for Sunday, July 7

Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying the relationships between them. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Like Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.

How to play Connections

In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words and must organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections could revolve around themes like video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.

While some words may fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to see potential connections better.

Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to identify, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.

Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words are removed from the grid, and the connecting theme is revealed. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as a mistake. Players have only four mistakes before the game ends.
