Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by determining how they relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty in each new puzzle. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you’re still stumped, the answers will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to group these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These sets could include titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, and more.
Some words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and submit. If correct, the words will be removed, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
