NYT Connections: hints and answers for Sunday, August 25

Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Like Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.

How to play Connections

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, etc.

While some words may fit multiple themes, there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to visualize the potential connections better.

Each group is color-coded: yellow, green, blue, and purple in order of increasing difficulty.

Select four words and submit. If correct, the words will be removed, and the connecting theme revealed. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as a mistake. You have four mistakes before the game ends.
