Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. It challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying their connections. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you need the answers, they’re provided at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four based on their connections. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, etc.
While some words may fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to better visualize the connections.
Each group is color-coded based on difficulty level: yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed, and the connecting theme revealed. A wrong guess counts as a mistake, with only four allowed before the game ends.
