Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The objective is to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how they relate to each other. Each new puzzle resets at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re finding today’s Connections puzzle challenging, check out our tips and hints below. And if you’re still stuck, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to various themes like video game titles, book series, shades, or restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize the connections. Each group is color-coded from yellow to purple based on difficulty.
Select four words and click “Submit.” If correct, the words will be removed, revealing the theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed per game.
