Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. It challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by determining how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series, colors, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may appear to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple the most challenging. Select four words, submit them, and if correct, the theme linking them will be revealed. Guess wrong, and it counts as a mistake, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
