Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by uncovering how the words are related. Each puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty akin to Wordle. You can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
If today’s Connections puzzle proves tricky, check out the tips and hints below. If you’re still stumped, we’ll provide the answers at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to group them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections can be thematic, such as video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
Some words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words for a better view of the potential connections.
Each group is color-coded from easiest to hardest: yellow, green, blue, and purple. Pick four words, hit Submit, and if correct, they’ll be removed from the grid with the theme revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, and you have a limit of four mistakes before the game ends.
