Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by determining their relationships. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying degrees of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you’re still stuck, we’ll provide the answers at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These sets can be related to various themes like video game titles, book series, colors, or restaurant names.
While some words may fit multiple themes, there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle the grid to better visualize potential connections. Each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and submit. If correct, the words will be removed, and the connecting theme revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed before the game ends.
