Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. It challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight, with varying difficulty levels. Similarly to Wordle, players can track their winning streaks and compare scores with friends.
Some days may be more challenging than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you still can’t solve it, we’ll provide the answers at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you will see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by recognizing the connections between them. These connections could revolve around themes like video game titles, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may fit multiple themes, only one answer is 100% correct. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help identify potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest and the purple group being the most challenging.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed, revealing the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed before the game ends.
