Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. Your task is to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by figuring out how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, and each new puzzle varies in difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re having trouble with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you’re still stuck, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections that link them together. These connections could include titles of video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, etc.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to visualize the potential connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. Correct guesses will remove the words from the grid and reveal the theme connecting them. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, and you only have a total of four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
