After more than seven years since the release of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo is finally launching an official Joy-Con Charging Stand on October 17. The stand is designed to support all Joy-Cons, including the Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers, and can be used both vertically and horizontally. It features a USB-C connector on the top for charging.
The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter), and while details are scarce and preorders are not yet available, the product images suggest it will cater to a wide range of Joy-Con users.

While some may question why this accessory is being released towards the end of the Switch’s life cycle, it’s worth noting that there are various ways to charge Joy-Cons without an official stand. Additionally, rumors surrounding a new Nintendo console indicate potential changes to the Joy-Cons, which could impact compatibility with this stand. However, if the rumors are false and the current Joy-Con design remains, this release would align with the existing hardware.
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed the development of a new console, referred to as a “Nintendo Switch successor” on Xaccording to a tweet. This, along with other rumors, suggests potential changes in the works for Nintendo’s next console.
