Ninja Kiwi, the game studio under Modern Time Group, has recently acquired AutoAttack Games, the developer behind Legion TD 2. Founded in 2014 by Brent Batas and later joined by Julian Gari in 2016, the duo has been leading this US-based company for eight years.
AutoAttack Games is renowned for its Legion TD mod for Warcraft III, and currently, the company is responsible for the development, marketing, and community engagement of Legion TD 2 with the help of a small team. The game has a dedicated player base and continues to grow through regular updates. Additionally, AutoAttack Games has begun working on a new game within the Legion franchise.
Shared Passion for Tower Defense
Scott Walker, the CEO of Ninja Kiwi, expressed his admiration for Legion TD 2, stating, “We love the depth of gameplay and the challenging single and multiplayer experiences that players enjoy in Legion TD 2. Our mutual love for the Tower Defense genre aligns us closely with Brent and Julian.”

Before the acquisition by Modern Time Group, Ninja Kiwi’s co-founders had positive experiences with potential acquirers in the past, emphasizing the importance of finding the right partner. As Ninja Kiwi moves forward, the company plans to enhance and expand the Bloons TD universe, leveraging the expertise brought in by the AutoAttack acquisition.
MTG’s Growth in the Industry
Modern Times Group has been actively expanding its gaming portfolio, with recent acquisitions including PlaySimple and Snowprint Studios. In a statement from November 2023, MTG’s CEO Maria Redin expressed enthusiasm for the company’s future prospects in the gaming industry, highlighting the positive momentum gained through strategic partnerships.
