Nigma Galaxy emerged victorious over OG in the Upper Bracket Final of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024: Western Europe Closed Qualifier, raising the question: Have Nigma returned to their former glory?
The revamped Nigma lineup, currently operating without their founder and TI-winner Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi, managed to defeat a temporary OG Dota 2 roster in a tough 2-1 battle.
The first game saw Nigma Galaxy secure a swift victory in a dominating fashion, leaving OG struggling with their lineup of teamfighters and skillshot heroes. However, OG retaliated strongly in game two, delivering a crushing defeat in just 21 minutes, casting doubt on Nigma Galaxy’s qualifications for the qualifiers.
Game three witnessed both teams showcasing their best performances, with dominant heroes like Luna and Dragon Knight being selected on each side, resulting in an intense showdown. OG initially held the upper hand, excelling in teamfights.
As the match progressed, OG’s Enigma and Tusk faltered, allowing Nigma’s Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan to seize control with his Leshrac. Stand-in player Tony “No!ob” Assaf, from PSG Quest, emerged as the game-changer with his exceptional performance on Mars. His precision spears and strategic use of arenas prevented OG from gaining any advantage past the 20-minute mark.
OG now finds themselves relegated to the Lower Bracket, with one last opportunity to secure a spot in the tournament. Competition will be fierce, with teams like AVALUS and MOUZ posing a serious challenge.
In contrast, Nigma appears to be in top form. The team, led by players like SumaiL and Miracle-, exudes confidence and strength. Fans are optimistic about Nigma’s future performances at BetBoom Dacha, eagerly anticipating their return to a major tournament for the first time since Clavision: Snow Ruyi in early August.
