Digital Bandidos, a new publishing studio with a focus on indie games, officially unveiled itself today. The studio, founded by former Versus Evil employees, Steve Escalante (CEO) and Lance James (head of production), specializes in supporting smaller indie developers by providing full-service publishing options, including both traditional and alternative funding.
According to the founders, Digital Bandidos concentrates on PC and console games with a developmental budget of up to $3 million, focusing on genres like role-playing, strategy, and action. In addition to traditional publishing options, the studio offers flexible funding solutions. These include a range of investment amounts and buyout options for developers with established games who seek financial support for new projects.
CEO Escalante shared in an interview with GamesBeat the studio’s mission of providing time and financial support to game developers, especially during challenging economic times. Digital Bandidos has already announced partnerships with BlankMediaGames for the Town of Salem series and Game Smithing Limited for Soulstone Survivors. The studio plans to expand these titles to new platforms and add fresh content.
