I recently listed my favorite games of 2023. Since I’ve been making these lists for so long, I decided to look backward for the sake of nostalgia.
Here’s my favorite games of the last 13 years in chronological order. I think that 2010, 2013, 2016, 2018, and 2020 were fabulous. I like the bookends of the start and the end of this list. I’ve got fond memories of playing the titles over again with family members or joining into multiplayer matches with friends. Most of these titles are triple-A games, occasionally with a mobile game like Fallout Shelter making an appearance, although it almost made the list, it fell short as an experience.
Still, I think the variety is good. I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing some of these games. Some games, like Call of Duty: Warzone, I’ve been playing for years. As for Call of Duty’s premium titles, I’ve played them every year. I don’t have as much time to play games as in the past, but I enjoy sinking my teeth into an awesome experience.
I’m glad to have these games a part of my life. They helped make me who I am. I like to think of those that I would love to sink even more time into on this list. Of the games listed here, the one I didn’t finish was Elden Ring. Someday, I hope to return to it and make it happen.
