Last year, Motorola did not release any Moto G Play devices, but the Moto G Play (2024) has made a return with significant upgrades over its predecessor, showing Motorola’s response to the criticism it received.
The Moto G Play (2024) features a new processor, camera, and various additional improvements, aiming to compete in the budget smartphone category.
Enhancements in Performance and Camera
The latest Moto G Play comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, providing a significant performance boost over its predecessor. It handles everyday tasks and gaming better, allowing for better performance in popular games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile.
The phone also boasts a 50-megapixel main camera, a major upgrade from the previous model, and aids in capturing better quality and low-light images using pixel binning.
Storage has been increased to 64GB, along with a shift of the fingerprint sensor’s position and a cleaner design.
Reinvented Favorites
The Moto G Play (2024) retains the enormous battery capacity of its predecessors, and its 5,000mAh cell is supported by a faster 15W charge rate. The display also receives minor improvements with a 90Hz refresh rate and dynamic refresh rates.
The Moto G Play (2024) will be available starting February 8, priced at $150.
