Monumental, an indie game developer and publisher, has recently acquired Game Circus, developers of the popular social casino arcade game Coin Dozer. This acquisition marks a significant expansion for Monumental, adding more than 40 mobile titles to its gaming catalogue. The company aims to further its presence in the free-to-play casino category with titles like Coin Dozer, Taps to Riches, Merge Zoo, and Prize Claw, all of which have collectively amassed over 400 million downloads.
Donnie Thompson, CEO of Game Circus, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We’re happy and excited to partner with Monty [Kerr, Monumental CEO] and his very talented team at Monumental. Together we believe we can take our games to new heights and look forward to collaborating to delight our players in new ways.”
In yet another significant move, Monumental recently acquired Kongregate from Modern Times Group (MTG), which had previously acquired the game developer and publisher in 2017. MTG has shown confidence in Monumental’s ability to work with Kongregate in enhancing its combined games portfolio, with MTG retaining a 30% share in the newly combined company.
With its rapidly growing collection of games, Monumental is solidifying its place in the indie gaming sector. The additions of both Kongregate and Game Circus contribute to the diversification of Monumental’s game library, positioning the company as a prominent player in the gaming industry.
