- Monster Hunter Now is currently running a promotion for Monster Hunter Stories, featuring limited in-game events and quests
- Navirou, a key character from Stories, is integrated into the real world through Now as part of the campaign
Monster Hunter Now has initiated its first in-game crossover event to celebrate the launch of the RPG spin-off Monster Hunter Stories on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Originally released on 3DS in 2016 and later brought to Apple Arcade in 2019, Monster Hunter Stories expanded its reach to the Switch with a sequel. This shift from console to mobile and back to console marks Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter release following the mobile-exclusive Monster Hunter Now, leveraging its geolocation popularity for the remaster’s promotion.
Immersive AR Ad Campaigns!
Starting on June 26th, Monster Hunter Now players can participate in a limited-time event centered around Navirou, a character from Stories who has found himself lost in the real world. Utilizing Now’s AR and geolocation features, players embark on quests to restore Navirou’s memory by hunting monsters and gathering resources.
The promotional event offers players 16 new quests to uncover Navirou’s story, encouraging casual Now players to explore the wider Monster Hunter series, especially with the release of Monster Hunter Stories scheduled for the following three weeks.
Stories fans can also join the fun by unlocking exclusive rewards like a Navirou outfit and layered equipment by completing the quests before July 14th. This collaboration benefits both Now players and developer Niantic.
“We’re collaborating with Monster Hunter Stories for an exciting new event. In it, you can enjoy a collaboration story through limited-time quests. You’ll meet Navirou, who seems to have wandered into the real world,” announced the Monster Hunter Now team.
“Look forward to a total of 16 limited-time quests which will task you with taking down large monsters and more. Complete these quests to claim epic rewards including the Navirou Mask, layered equipment that will let you dress up just like Navirou, as well as the exclusive Visitor from Another Story Medal and various materials, including a Rathalos Plate!”
Since its launch last September, Monster Hunter Now has garnered 15 million downloads and over $180 million in revenue. This success positions it ahead of AR giant Pokémon Go in certain aspects, making it an effective platform for promoting future Capcom games.
