Threads, the competitor to Meta’s X, has unveiled a range of new features today. These include the ability to store multiple drafts, rearrange columns on the desktop, and gain insights into the user’s audience. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also hinted at the upcoming addition of a post-scheduling feature.
These new features coincide with the one-year anniversary of Threads launching its web version in August 2023.
Threads had started testing drafts earlier this year in February before rolling it out to all users in March. Users can now save up to 100 drafts per account.
In addition, Meta has introduced a new user Insights screen displaying demographics and engagement metrics. This screen breaks down total views and interactions with posts by followers and non-followers.
Users of Threads have been enjoying the ability to rearrange columns and view insights for a few weeks as part of exclusive testing.
Threads is experimenting with a multi-feed experience on iOS with certain users, but details on feed reordering remain undisclosed.
Earlier this month, Threads hit a milestone of 200 million monthly active users, almost 13 months post-launch. In comparison, its competitor X (formerly Twitter) boasted over 600 million monthly users in May according to Elon Musk. Bluesky, another decentralized platform, reached 5 million users by February.
