Planning road trips just got easier with the new iOS app Wayther. This app by indie developer Axel Le Pennec provides real-time road conditions and weather forecasts up to 10 days ahead along your route.
Originally inspired by a weather feature in his boating app Skipper, Le Pennec decided to create Wayther to cater to a wider audience of travelers and truckers looking for detailed route planning.
Wayther offers a user-friendly interface where you can choose different routes, adjust departure times, and view detailed weather forecasts at various points during your journey. It eliminates the need for manual weather checks and allows you to plan around ideal driving conditions.
Available in countries with Apple Weather support, Wayther caters to various modes of transportation, including cars, motorcycles, RVs, and more. The app also offers both metric and imperial units for convenience.
Looking ahead, Le Pennec has ambitious plans for Wayther, including the addition of stops, route history, favorites, live updates, and compatibility with CarPlay. He also aims to offer the app in multiple languages and enhance OS integration for a seamless user experience.
For those interested, Wayther offers a free trial allowing for three trips before choosing from affordable subscription plans starting at $1.99 weekly.
