The 3D puzzle game Match Factory! has achieved impressive success, quickly rising to the second-highest spot on the Top Trending chart in terms of revenue less than six months after its launch.
According to the app chart, Match Factory! has exhibited remarkable growth and, combined with App Magic data, the game has garnered an estimated $22.5 million in gross revenue since its late August 2023 release. As the game approaches its six-month mark, it continues to show promise.
Strong Performance
Match Factory! is a match 3D puzzle game, known for its captivating gameplay that requires players to tap and swipe their screens to identify and organize 3D objects. The game’s popularity stems from its focus on forming trios of identical objects, a format that has resonated well with players.
While Candy Crush by King remains a dominant force in this genre, Match Factory! has made significant strides without introducing any groundbreaking innovations, according to App Magic. Given Peak Games’ strong track record in puzzle games, with titles like Toon Blast and Toy Blast earning billions of dollars, the game’s rapid growth is hardly surprising.
With a 350% month-on-month growth in November and December 2023, Match Factory! holds the potential to join the ranks of billion-dollar earners.
App Magic data also reveals that the US represents the largest spending audience, accounting for 77% of Match Factory!’s revenues, while the UK and Canada have contributed 10% and 2% respectively. Notably, the majority of revenue has been generated from the App Store, with Android users contributing only 1% to the game’s earnings.
Furthermore, during PGC London, Greta Septinia, the senior UX writer at King, discussed Candy Crush Saga and “actionable microcopy.”
