Fortnite is gearing up for a new season, and the main theme has been revealed after numerous leaks in the previous Chapter. However, the details surrounding the upcoming season remained a mystery until a recent presentation at D23. The game is set to incorporate a significant amount of Disney content, starting with Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. So, what can we expect from this highly-anticipated season?
For a while now, it has been known that the new season would be Marvel themed, reminiscent of Chapter 2 Season 4 which focused on superheroes. The specifics regarding the lineup and other elements were shrouded in secrecy until a livestream during a special Fortnite presentation at D23 unveiled a sneak peek at the new skins coming with the next season:
New Skins Coming in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4
The arrival of a new Fortnite season signals the launch of a fresh Battle Pass. A hint of what to expect came during the Fortnite mini-event, where Doctor Doom made a return to the Island. He is one of the few Marvel characters entering the fray.
In addition to Doctor Doom, fans can look forward to a Fortnite/Marvel crossover that has been teased for several seasons. One standout character is a version of Peely styled after Wolverine, paying homage to the X-Men reveal from Chapter 2 but with a more elaborate costume. This marks the third Wolverine skin introduced in recent weeks.
Moreover, the season will feature a new iteration of Doctor Doom, X-Men characters in the Fortnite Item Shop, a character resembling Deadpool, a War Machine inspired by Iron Man, Mysterio, and a revamped look for Hope. Not to forget, there’s also a version of Jonesy donning a Captain America outfit.
While superheroes take center stage in this season, it’s refreshing to see some of Fortnite’s beloved original characters receiving representation as well. For those fatigued by the saturation of superheroes in pop culture, there may be lesser motivation to grind through the Battle Pass this time around.
