Maingear announced today a collaboration with Phison on a new line of workstations: The Pro AI workstations featuring Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ technology. These workstations are designed to provide a cost-effective solution for small and medium-sized businesses to develop and train large language models efficiently. While the workstations can be customized based on specific needs, there are three preconfigured variants available: The Shodan 64 (MSRP $28,000), the Shodan 96 ($37,000), and the Shodan 192 ($60,000).
All three preconfigured units come with multiple Nvidia GPUs and Intel Xeon CPUs, making them ideal for office environments due to their built-in noise dampening and compact size similar to a standard desktop. These setups also include caching SSDs to optimize resources for AI development. Maingear emphasizes that these workstations provide AI training capabilities outside of the cloud, enabling users to protect their data more effectively.
According to Wallace Santos, Maingear founder and CEO, “Maingear’s Pro AI workstations, powered by Phison aiDAPTIV+, offer users large language model AI training capabilities without the high costs. Our commitment to delivering highly capable yet budget-friendly solutions ensures SMBs, universities, and research facilities gain a competitive edge in an industry previously dominated by multimillion-dollar investments.”
Below are the full specifications for all three units:
