Don’t Nod has decided to delay the release of its narrative adventure game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage to early 2025, following the announcement and imminent launch of Life is Strange: Double Exposure this October.
Don’t Nod, known for creating the Life is Strange series with Square Enix, moved on to develop Tell Me Why in 2020. Meanwhile, some former Life is Strange developers established a new Don’t Nod studio in Montreal to work on the Lost Records franchise.
The first game in the Lost Records series, Blood & Rage, was revealed at The Game Awards 2023. It is set to follow a group of friends who experience a traumatic event in the summer of 1995, with repercussions 27 years later. Think of it as a blend of Life is Strange and Yellowjackets. Originally planned for release this year, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is now postponed.
Meanwhile, Square Enix has continued the Life is Strange series with games like Before the Storm and True Colors developed by Deck Nine. The upcoming Life is Strange: Double Exposure, continuing the story of Max Caufield, was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase and is set to launch on October 29. This prompted Don’t Nod’s decision to delay Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.
