After the release of LoL Patch 14.19 on live servers, Riot is implementing micropatch changes to address balance issues with certain champions.
Micropatch changes to Patch 14.19
The ongoing Worlds 2024 tournament has both professional players and the community competing on the same patch, thanks to Riot Games’ efforts to introduce diverse changes for the event.
Following the initial patch release, Riot identified outliers such as Corki, K’Sante, and Tristana, who were severely impacted by nerfs meant for competitive play. These changes had a negative effect on their performance in regular matches, with win rates dropping significantly.
Riot Phroxzon, a game designer, mentioned that adjustments have resulted in a decrease in “time to kill” making the game less lethal. Further changes are being monitored as build optimizations continue. Meanwhile, players can explore the micropatch changes that are already in effect.

The buffs to Corki and Tristana aim to make them viable as counterpicks without dominating the meta. K’Sante’s improvements are welcome, although the champion still needs time to find balance post-rework. Amumu receives a necessary nerf to address his overpowering damage with AP builds, bringing him closer in line with other jungle champions.
