Exploring the LoL Esports World Cup 2024
The LoL Esports World Cup 2024 is a prestigious esports event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It follows the success of last year’s Gamers8 festival and features over 20 esports games, making it the largest esports event in terms of duration and game variety, with a total of 21 games in the lineup.
One of the highlight tournaments at the Esports World Cup is the League of Legends (LoL) competition, which spans four days during the first week. From July 4 to July 7, the top eight teams from the major LoL regions will compete for the EWC championship title.
Tournament Format and Teams
The LoL tournament at the Esports World Cup 2024 follows a single elimination bracket format, featuring the top two seeds from each of the major regions – LCK, LPL, LEC, and LCS. The participating teams are the same as those who competed in the Mid-Season Invitational in Chengdu, China. The eight teams vying for the EWC title are:

- G2 Esports
- Fnatic
- Team Liquid
- FlyQuest
The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played as Best of 3 matches, with the Finals being a Best of 5 showdown. The EWC boasts a staggering $1 million prize pool, with the champions walking away with $400,000 and 1,000 points for the club championship, leading to additional prize money for the top 16 teams across all titles.
