Before the start of the tournament, LNG Esports faced a potential disaster as their mid laner Lee “Scout” Ye-chan was initially unable to travel due to a dispute with his former team, EDward Gaming. JD Gaming’s Yagao was set to substitute for him, but a last-minute development allowed Scout to attend Worlds, and we had the opportunity to interview him before the Swiss Stage action.
Esports.net: How do you feel now that the issues are resolved and you’re able to play?
Scout: I’m feeling great. We’re no longer jet-lagged, ready to practice, and prepared to compete.
Were you still practicing during the dispute? Did you participate in scrims?
Scout: The issue didn’t affect our practice or scrims, so overall, our preparation is going well. We’re doing our best to get ready for the matches.
Lee Jones: Many don’t consider you among the favorites for the title.
What is LNG’s goal at Worlds?
Scout: As a professional player, my goal is to win it all. This year, I believe our team has high potential and ceilings, and we can showcase that when we perform well.
Lee Jones: Your first match in the Swiss Stage is against Team Liquid. What are your thoughts on them?
Have you watched Team Liquid’s previous performances?
Scout: Team Liquid has shown promise, especially at MSI. We need to be cautious and prepared for them in the upcoming best-of-one match.

Lee Jones: Team Liquid’s mid laner APA is known for his trash talk. Any message for him before the match?
Honestly, I haven’t paid attention to the trash talk, but I wish him to play well.
Will the Worlds patch suit LNG?
The meta changes in the mid lane for this patch won’t affect me much due to my champion pool diversity.
Lee Jones: The small audience capacity at the LEC arena for the Swiss stage has been controversial. What are your thoughts after visiting it?
What’s your opinion on the Worlds song, “Heavy is the Crown”?
Scout: I haven’t had the chance to explore it much, but compared to older Worlds songs, the recent ones have faster tempos. Personally, I prefer emotional songs over fast-paced ones.
