According to meme culture, mentioning that your partner plays Riot Games’ flagship MOBA, League of Legends, can lead to mocking reactions from friends. But are League players really the problem, or is it just a stereotype?
Despite the warnings, my experiences dating League players have been normal. To delve deeper into this stereotype, I surveyed over 45 individuals on whether dating someone who plays League of Legends would be a deal-breaker.
In Defense of League Players
In my survey, I defined a League of Legends player as someone who plays regularly enough for it to be a core part of their identity. Most respondents stated that being a League player wouldn’t automatically disqualify a potential partner. Only a few considered it a deal-breaker.
