Konami‘s newest baseball game, MLB Pro Spirit, is set to launch on iOS and Android this fall, offering a more authentic approach to the sport.
The Japanese company acquired a license from MLB and the MLB Players Association to feature all 30 real teams and their players’ likenesses in Pro Spirit. Players will collect and manage their own roster from a wide selection of players and compete against other teams.
MLB Authenticity
With a more realistic visual style compared to Konami’s cartoonish Power Pros series, MLB Pro Spirit focuses on authenticity, including realistic organ music, broadcast-style commentary, and natural stadium sounds.
As a mobile exclusive, this baseball game brings the world of MLB to fans anytime, anywhere.
In single-player mode, players can choose a league and division to participate in, influencing their opponents, with up to 52 matches per season. Online mode offers real-time matches in Ranked and Custom Games.
Players can earn special rewards by playing games, completing missions, and participating in limited-time events to collect new players and enhance their team. A limited-time Grade III Cover Athlete, Shohei Ohtani, will also be available shortly after launch to commemorate the game’s release.
“Real Baseball, Real Fast. eBaseball: MLB PRO SPIRIT Launches Fall 2024!” Konami announced on Twitter.
Konami has a long history of baseball games dating back to the 1990s with SNES game Pawapuro ’94, mostly featuring Japanese teams and players under an NBP license. Only a few titles, including Pawapuro Wii and MLB Power Pros, have used a Western MLB license, now joined by MLB Pro Spirit.
