Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver have officially announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the popular 2018 RPG that immersed players in a realistic medieval world.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues Henry’s story, once again portrayed by Tom McKay, as he seeks vengeance for the murder of his family. This sequel boasts over five hours of cutscenes and an open world that is twice the size of the original game.
Prior to the official announcement, a presentation attended by Digital Trends confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will include a photo mode, allowing players to capture stunning in-game landscapes and environments using the CryEngine-powered medieval visuals.
In terms of gameplay, the intricate first-person sword combat makes a return, emphasizing the importance of strike and block positioning in battles. Players will also have access to new ranged weapons like crossbows and firearms, adding depth to combat encounters. Player choices will once again play a significant role, influencing both dialogue options and gameplay mechanics. The game’s NPCs will remember player actions, leading to consequences based on the character’s reputation.
Jan Volta returns as the game’s composer, with a preview of the captivating orchestral soundtrack showcased in the reveal video. Daniel Vávra, Creative Director and founder of Warhorse Studios, expresses his vision for “the ultimate medieval RPG adventure” after working with a team of 250 developers over six years.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S later in 2024.
