Keywords Studios, Active Fence, Take This, and Modulate have joined forces to establish the Gaming Safety Coalition. This coalition aims to enhance the safety and integrity of online video game communities by bringing together Trust & Safety organizations dedicated to creating stronger, safer, and more resilient gaming environments.
Within the coalition, Keywords Studios will provide expert moderation teams focused on player and moderator well-being, while Modulate will offer prosocial voice intelligence technology to encourage respectful interactions. CEO of Modulate, Mike Pappas, expressed that the coalition’s goal is to drive meaningful change by integrating technological innovations, expert moderation, and mental health research to cultivate a gaming culture that is safe, inclusive, and supportive.
Strength in Unity
ActiveFence will contribute Trust and Safety tools to combat toxicity and ensure player safety, and Take This will support mental health in gaming through research, training, and community outreach. Co-founder and CEO of ActiveFence, Noam Schwartz, stated that by combining strengths and expertise, the coalition aims to set new standards for safety and well-being in the gaming industry, creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for all.
Executive director of Take This, Eve Crevoshay, sees the coalition as an opportunity to highlight the positive aspects of gaming, while Sharon Fisher from Keywords Studios emphasizes the importance of providing players and moderators with the necessary support to stay safe from online harm.
