Keen Games’ survival action roleplaying title Enshrouded has now surpassed three million players. The game has garnered praise for its challenging gameplay and intricate building system.
Enshrouded made its debut at last fall’s Steam Next Fest, where its demo was one of the most played. The game entered early access on PC on January 24, 2024, and quickly gained traction, reaching one million players in just four days and two million shortly after.
Since its early access launch, Keen Games has been actively updating Enshrouded with three major updates and four smaller patches to introduce new content to the game.
In a press release, the studio expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming response to Enshrouded, stating, “After reaching one million players in four days and two million in a month, we continue to be amazed by the reception. The game’s growing popularity through word of mouth is humbling and we are deeply thankful for your trust.”

While the growth of Enshrouded has slowed, reaching three million players is a significant achievement for Keen Games. Additionally, the German developer self-published the game, marking a first for the studio, which previously worked with 505 Games for their hit title, Portal Knights.
Enshrouded is currently in Early Access on Steam, with plans for a full launch on PC, Playstation, and Xbox consoles in 2025.
