Alienware is venturing into new territory with its latest offering. Known for producing top-notch gaming monitors like the Alienware 34 QD-OLED, the brand has now introduced the AW2725QF. This 27-inch 4K gaming monitor features a unique dual refresh rate feature, allowing users to seamlessly switch between 4K at 180Hz and 1080p at 360Hz with just a press of a button.
While similar features have been seen on other monitors like the LG UltraGear Dual Mode OLED, Alienware’s approach sets it apart. The AW2725QF offers a smaller 27-inch display compared to LG’s 32-inch monitor, making the transition between 4K and 1080p less noticeable. Additionally, the monitor adopts an IPS panel instead of OLED, resulting in a more affordable price tag of $599.

The AW2725QF boasts DisplayHDR 600 certification and supports Dolby Vision HDR and VESA’s Adaptive Sync for variable refresh rates. Console gamers are not left out, with two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 connection for 4K at 120Hz compatibility. Alienware also includes a specialized Console Mode color profile for optimized color performance.
The monitor will debut in China on August 15 before reaching the global market, including the U.S., on September 12. Stay tuned for reviews to see if the AW2725QF lives up to the hype.
