Palworld, the game that has been likened to “Pokémon with guns,” quickly gained popularity upon its release. Given that Pokémon is exclusively available on Nintendo consoles and is one of the most successful video game franchises ever, it’s understandable that players on other platforms are excited about the opportunity to collect and battle creatures in an open-world setting.
Similar to Ark: Survival Evolved, Palworld is a survival game with a strong focus on co-op gameplay. Many players are eager for it to be a cross-platform game.
When it comes to cross-platform play, Palworld currently offers support between Xbox and PC, but only if playing through the Xbox app on PC. Unfortunately, if you are playing on Steam, cross-platform play with Xbox friends is not possible at the moment. While this setup may be a bit awkward, it’s still better than no cross-platform support at all, such as in Elden Ring.
The developers have mentioned that they are working on more advanced cross-platform support, but there have been no updates on this matter since the game’s launch. Currently, Palworld is only available on Steam and Xbox, with no plans for a release on PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. It is expected that cross-platform functionality should be easier to implement between these two platforms.
We will keep you updated on any developments regarding cross-platform play in Palworld.
