Survival games come in various forms, but none quite like Ark: Survival Evolved which allows you to tame and ride lifelike dinosaurs. Set on a planet teeming with Earth-like dinosaurs, you navigate a hazardous environment filled with dangers. As an online game, you will inevitably encounter other players, who can either be your greatest asset or biggest threat. To increase your chances of survival, teaming up with friends is essential, much like in games such as Rust. While Ark is available on multiple platforms, the question of cross-platform play arises. Is Ark capable of connecting players across different systems?
Is Ark cross-platform?
Unfortunately, Ark is not fully cross-platform compatible. Currently, only Xbox and PC players can join forces on shared servers, with mobile players on iOS and Android able to team up as well. Regrettably, there is no crossplay functionality available for any PlayStation platforms.
As for cross-progression, the limitations persist. Progress can only be transferred between Xbox and PC platforms, with no support for other systems. Should you wish to switch to or start on a PlayStation platform, you will need to start anew from the beginning.
