Irdeto, the developers behind Denuvo, have introduced TraceMark for Gaming to their suite of gaming anti-piracy tools. This technology uses watermarking to help game developers track leaks back to their source.
“With the launch of TraceMark for Gaming, we are raising the bar for anti-piracy in the gaming industry. This innovative solution marks a significant milestone for Irdeto and represents a major step forward in protecting the investments of game developers worldwide. At Irdeto, we recognize the challenges faced by the gaming community, and TraceMark demonstrates our commitment to safeguarding these valuable assets. We are excited about the positive impact this will have on the industry,” said Niels Haverkorn, SVP of New Markets at Irdeto.
Denuvo’s TraceMark Deters Leaks
TraceMark for Gaming, tailored specifically for the gaming industry by Irdeto, brings watermarking technology to gaming for the first time. While new to gaming, this invisible watermark solution has been proven in other industries such as Hollywood studios and sports leagues.
While TraceMark for Gaming cannot prevent leaks directly, it discourages potential leakers by linking unauthorized distribution back to the source. This tool is platform-agnostic and can be used at all stages of a game’s lifecycle, providing consistent protection throughout development. It integrates seamlessly with existing workflows and Denuvo’s Anti-tamper product to create a simple, one-click solution to deter leaks.
TraceMark offers transparency and minimal disruption to gameplay, allowing developers and players to independently verify watermarks through a self-service detection portal. It embeds both invisible and visible watermarking techniques for added protection.
TraceMark for Gaming is the latest addition to Denuvo’s security solutions, which also include Anti-Tamper and Anti-Cheat technologies for PC and mobile games. Attendees of the Game Developers Conference can connect with Irdeto at the Denuvo booth (S2033) on the expo floor.
Denuvo’s gaming anti-piracy software is launching TraceMark for Gaming at GDC to aid game developers in tracing leaks back to their source.
