Intel’s top processors have been plagued by a significant stability issue for quite some time. Despite the latest BIOS update aiming to fix things for users with functional 13th- and 14th-gen CPUs, the problems persist.
Recent reports from the developers of the popular game Black Myth: Wukong suggest that gamers with Intel-based CPUs may experience crashes while playing. It seems like the new patch may not have fully addressed the issue.
The game developer shared on Steam forums that there are issues with shader compilation on Intel’s Raptor Lake processors. This can lead to game crashes or “Out of memory” errors during gameplay, which is concerning for players.
Feedback from other users indicates that the problem extends beyond specific Intel CPU models, as some AMD CPU owners have also reported similar crashing issues, albeit under different circumstances.
If you are facing similar issues, updating your BIOS to the latest version may help, provided that the motherboard vendor has released an update to address Intel’s microcode issue. Alternatively, the game developer suggests undervolting the CPU or skipping shader compilation as temporary solutions.
It’s too early to determine if Intel’s latest patch has resolved the crashing issue completely. The patch was primarily designed to prevent future crashes rather than address existing ones, which may explain the ongoing problems in Black Myth: Wukong.
This isn’t the first time developers have raised concerns about Intel CPUs. Instances of frequent crashes during gameplay have prompted some studios to switch to AMD processors for improved reliability and performance.
