Are you a proud owner of the new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and planning to use it on AT&T? Well, here’s a heads up – some users have reported issues connecting to AT&T’s 5G network with this new device. Instead, they are only able to connect to the LTE network. This information was shared in a Reddit thread (originally reported by Android Authority).
Although the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the latest addition to the Pixel lineup, it is ironic that AT&T is not selling it among the four new handsets. However, this omission should not be related to the ongoing 5G connectivity issue.
The problem seems to affect unlocked Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices when trying to connect to AT&T. Instead of latching onto a 5G network, the phone defaults to LTE, or at best, the 5Ge network – AT&T’s enhanced LTE band.
While AT&T has no plans to carry the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, it remains unclear whether they will officially certify the unlocked model. Given that AT&T is one of the largest carriers in the U.S., it would be surprising if they didn’t.
The exact number of AT&T customers experiencing this issue remains unknown. Those who have reached out to the carrier have been advised by customer service to wait 72 hours for a resolution or visit an AT&T store.
Priced at $1,799, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold boasts a sleek design with a matte glass back and metal finish. It sports an 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner display and a 6.3-inch outer display, powered by the Google Tensor G4 chip like the other Pixel 9 models.
We hope that AT&T resolves this connectivity issue swiftly to avoid customer dissatisfaction, which would reflect poorly on both AT&T and Google. We’ll be monitoring the situation closely to see how it unfolds.
